I am working with so many amazing designers right now that I just don’t know what to do with myself. How will I ever use all  their amazing clothing in my shoots?! I love all of them and they each lend a unique characteristic and style to their lines. I’ve been working on 5 as we speak and I’m going to do a large post with a bit about each of them right now….so hold on to your seat. Cuteness overload begins now!

First up, Muchalinga! What a fun name.  It just sounds like fun, laughing kiddos to me! The brightness of Isabel’s fabrics, patterns and designs are so fun in photography.  She has great options for removable flowers and the “peasant dress” with those amazing little sleeves are so much fun! Check her etsy store out…too cute.

NEXT UP: Jessie Girls Clothing designed and owned by Vicki! SO CUTE! I adore the pettiskirt with the matching knitted scarf. It has the cutest little detailed flowers at the end of it. Perfect for Christmas pictures!  However, the amazing fall dress has so many fun textures and patterns it. Vicki has definately created a flair all of her own with this one. AND, and adorable perk, she sells the little shirt with the AMAZING flower cuffs as well. It goes perfect with the pettiskirt as well as the rest of her line. Click on her name to see her etsy store!

AND…I thought I’d throw this last one in for “funsies”. Its never easy working with wee little ones…getting them happy, to sit still so you don’t have a blurred image, metering correctly for their little fast moving hands, AND trying to do all this while you’re thinking about the million other things that go into a good, healthy, manually metered image that will portray your clients clothing line the way they’d like it portrayed. Here’s my little one basically telling me that if I say another word to her or tell her to stand right there and not to throw the ample amount of rocks around her one more time, she’s firing me as a mother. Its a bit blurry and not the best image as far as photography goes, but it makes me laugh out loud, and that’s priceless to me. Who knows, maybe it works as a “Christmas image….You better watch out, Santa claus is comin to town” type of feel!

Next: Kangacoo Designs

I’ve already done a spring post, but here is a peak at her fall line. Lush, thick amazing wintery fabrics, perfect for a little girlie girl! This wrap is amazing! And the little velour dress is so SO cute with its “bell” sleeves and big black bow!

Look at that lush pink fur…with the zebra stripes! Are you kidding me with how cute that is!

AND, last but not least, my new Australian friend, Mya from Purple Blossoms!  She has way too many cute dresses in her store right now. To me, this had “summer picnic” or “tea party” written all over it. ADORABLE! I shot these awhile ago of My Sage for her and forgot to get them up on my blog. SORRY MYA!

Here’s Sage trying to look like America’s Next To Model….Fierce Sage, fierce!

AND, a few with a vintage feel and look. Love it! Great for young girls, but pair them with a jean jacket and leggings and you’ve got yourself an “tween look”! Love it.

Just one fabulous portrait of an amazing woman…Miss Victoria Dahl. How do you go about taking a portrait for a beautiful, sophisticated, mother of two, wife to one, somewhat naughty (she called herself that…for the record), very funny, extremely smart novelist who is up for a national award for her newest present day romance series? I have no idea how you sum all that up with one portrait. Thus, I took many…many…many portraits for her.

Victoria,  you were an absolute pleasure to work with.  You’re  fun, refreshingly real, kind, and inspiring! I think its marvelous that you are up for yet another faublous award! Best of luck with all your future plans.

Her two newest series are set in mountain towns and thus we both thought it only fitting to explore a bit of mountain air ourselves. For now, just one…but more to come!

Its official, I haven’t been the best lately at keeping updates happening. We’ve been prepping our basement for carpet, getting the studio finished, participating in the anual olympics at the charter school where my little ones are…etc. etc. etc…  For those who are waiting for a little glimpse into their sessions, I promise, they ARE coming. However, for now, I have some “studio” images of my own.  My poor kids, whenever its time to try something new, they are my go to peops!  No wonder family pictures don’t often go as smoothly as hoped for us. Regardless, I love images of them in my home. They are everywhere…they adorn our walls and make me smile daily. I think I’ve said this on here before, but I ADORE looking at their sweet  perfect (to me) faces when they can’t talk back, cry, or want something.  Don’t get me wrong, I love their faces when they’re doing the above mentioned as well…its just a nice change to see them smiling at me and happy.

For those who have been to my home, you know it has a “rustic elegance” to it.  New sparkly, frills are mixed with old pieces of wood and furniture. I love it this way. SO…we got the wooden backdrops out, set up the studio lights and had a bit of fun. I wanted a rustic…almost vintage feel…without making them look too much “unlike” themselves, if you will.

AND, for those of you who have been asking, the studio isn’t quite done yet. Its still waiting patiently for carpet…which should be here in two weeks! Please tell me someone out there feels like things take atleast a few months extra than planned, ALWAYS!  However, in about three weeks, check for my “GRAND OPENING” Studio sale for children. It’ll be huge…and I’m thrilled to be offering it.

SO, I talk to much. I know…I’m sorry. One last thing… OOOHHH,I just LOVE them!

Even though my full studio isn’t completed yet (my hopes is by February…just in time for a cold spring in Heber), I do have a smaller portable set-up. It now includes some new pieces that I’ve been working on for awhile now. I love old wood…LOVE IT!  Thus, I found it rather fitting that some of my custom studio options would include it. I really do love it. I also thought it might be fun for clients to see some of the different edits that can still be done in studio. There are many options that make for great unique custom portraits. A Just because we’re in studio doesn’t mean we still can’t have fun while still keeping it simple and focused on the beautiful faces of our little ones. So, here are a few options done on my little peops. One set of these will hang large on my walls up and down my hallways eventually.

PS. I had my board tilted for these the the wood isn’t completely straight….for studio images, it will be. Why do we, as photographers get lazy with our own kids shots sometimes?

AND, here’s some with texture on it. I have a variety of different textures I like to use to help with the “mood” of a picture.
